It is a sad fact of life that many authors, unable to find a publishing house to take on their manuscripts, have a go at doing it themselves. Whilst it is easy to find a competent printer and bookbinder, and even arrange their own distribution network, many of these attempts look exactly what they are, do-it-yourself versions.

Like a household DIY job will never compare to that of a master craftsman, so too are the majority of self-publishing attempts. Yet, even though your manuscript may not be of interest to a commercial publisher, ther is no reason why the end result should not compare favourably.
